Women Empower and Mentor All (WEmpower) is an LBQT+ persons-led feminist community-based organization (CBO) based in Kisumu, Kenya, committed to advancing socio-political consciousness, civil and political rights, and health equity for LBQT+ individuals.
Rooted in Feminist Participatory Action Research (FPAR), Feminist Popular Education (FPE), and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) methodologies adapted for the digital age, WEmpower blends community-centered approaches with digital tools to ensure inclusive engagement and representation of marginalized voices.

Our guiding principles
WEmpower is Guided by the concept of comprehensive wellbeing and seeks to respond to the social determinants of health (SDOH) experienced by LBQT+ persons, including: the conditions in which they are born, grow, work, live, and age, and the wider set of forces and systems shaping the conditions of their daily life, including policy, politics, and law.
In alignment with the World Health Organization’s definition of the social determinants of health, we focus on forces that shape the daily lives of diverse women, such as economic policies and agendas
Mission
We are committed to empowering LBQT+ individuals in all their diversities, working to enhance their overall well-being—emotionally, financially, psychologically, and socially.
